The Pentimento Project Physiotherapist

Supporting Movement, Healing, and Quality of Life During and After Cancer

Headshot.jpg

Julie Allen is the founder of The Pentimento Project and an APA Titled Cancer and Lymphoedema Physiotherapist with more than 15 years’ experience specialising in oncology rehabilitation and survivorship care. With a clinical career spanning over 30 years, Julie brings a depth of expertise shaped by work in elite sports physiotherapy, complex rehabilitation, and pain management. Following her own diagnosis and treatment for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Julie gained first-hand insight into the physical and emotional realities of cancer recovery. This experience profoundly influenced her clinical approach and reinforced her commitment to evidence-based, patient-centred care. Julie established The Pentimento Project to bridge the gap between medical treatment and meaningful physical recovery. The practice supports people living with and beyond cancer to restore function, confidence, and trust in their bodies through thoughtful, progressive rehabilitation that extends well beyond the acute phase of treatment.
